This summer, I traveled to Calgary, Alberta, to complete a five-week training block with my teammates. This training program was designed to help prepare us physically for the upcoming 2016/17 season. Our five weeks in Calgary was composed of many different training activities, both in and out of the gym. Three mornings a week, we would head to the gym to complete our strength workout, and on the other days, we would go for long cardio bike rides on either on road bike or mountain bike, which helped to improve our endurance. We filled the rest of our time in Calgary participating in activities to incorporate different muscle groups and skills to improve our skiing, like gymnastics and Velodrome. I really enjoyed this training block, as it helped me get stronger and will allow me to head into the 2016/17 season confident in my fitness.
