In August, I traveled to Ushuaia, Argentina for a two week on-snow training camp, with the Canadian Alpine Development and National team. I was excited to get back on my skis, as this was the first time I had skied since our May training camp, in Sunshine, Alberta and it was my first time ever going to Argentina! It took 30 hours of straight travelling to finally arrive down in Ushuaia, but it was definitely worth it. Our first day on snow we free skied to get the feeling of skiing back. After that, we had an intense seven day training block, one day off, and then nine more days of straight training. During our training blocks, we had a lot of really productive runs, which made it a demanding sixteen days of training, full of different weather and snow conditions, challenging us both mentally and physically. Looking back on the camp, not only did my teammates and I have an amazing training block, but we also got to explore a new and beautiful ski area, which made the trip that much more exciting!
